M1928 Thompson US Military Sub-Machine Gun, #22-1093.
M1928 Thompson US SMG
- Our non-firing replica of the most recognizable American WWII weapon--the venerable Thompson "Tommy Gun" carried by U.S. Airborne troops in WWII--is 32.5 inches long, made of metal and wood. The bolt cocks and trigger "fires" from the open position, and the 20-round clip ejects.
This military model, with its 20-round magazine and horizontal grip, is different from the original commercial model. Compared to today's weapons, it is quite heavy (8.25 pounds), but the weight helped control the .45 caliber bursts on full automatic fire.
